Stig E.Omre

Stig E. Omre is working as an economist in the planning and analysis department of the                                                     Norwegian Health Economics Administration (HELFO). Formal educational background is Cand. Polit (University of Oslo) and Bachelor of Management (Norwegian School of Management). Before entering the field of health economy analysis, he earned more than 20 years of experience in the field of marketing research, forecasting, investments and economic analysis, both from private and public sector.

The Norwegian Health Economics Administration (HELFO) has conducted a project to estimate the level of incorrect claims and payments in the organisation. The ambition was to develop a method of estimating a likely interval of incorrect claims and payments, based on both survey- and register data (partly based on a similar methodology as Forsakringskassan/Sweden in 2008). Legal and budgetary constraints eliminated a scientific and statistically representative approach to make the estimates, and the project had to be conducted based on a more pragmatic methodological basis.

Stig was elected Treasurer of EHFCN in June this year.
