EHFCN Signs Agreement with SAS

EHFCN is happy to announce that the Network has entered into a cooperation agreement with SAS, leader in business analytics software and services.

SAS has signed an agreement in order to collaborate with EHFCN to help spread information, knowledge as well as experience in how to detect and prevent fraud, waste and abuse. As this is a huge global problem, it costs society, individuals and countries billions of Euros every year.

Healthcare fraud has an estimate cost of 56 billion Euros which is lost every year across the European Union. This is approximately equivalent to the salaries of 2.5 million nurses or to the cost of 1.7 million incubators or to the setting up of 3500 healthcare clinics across the EU. Every cent lost undermines healthcare systems' capacity to provide essential treatment, ultimately resulting in lower quality of care, and a reduced availability of services, treatments and care.

Through the EHFCN-SAS agreement, SAS committed to support EHFCN on an ad-hoc basis in terms of providing resources and know-how in online communications, EU relations, and media exposure, in terms of sharing information and networking and in terms of training on how to detect, prevent and forecast fraud, waste and abuse.

SAS is a great technical resource who can provide best practices, technical guidance and thought leadership on the effective deployment of anti-fraud and anti-corruption IT solutions in the healthcare sector. Paul Vincke, President of EHFCN said: “We have no doubt about the professional and competitive work SAS does in the anti-fraud and anti-corruption field and we look forward to developing a fruitful relationship with SAS, together with our member's organisations”.
